Caloundra is fast becoming the Sunshine Coast’s holiday hot spot with beautiful beaches aplenty, scenic coastal pathways, green open spaces, great places to eat and drink, heaps of things to do and see, and the ever-present stunning view over Pumicestone Passage and the Glass House Mountains.
On your next Sunshine Coast Holiday why not consider a stay in Caloundra? Here’s our recommend 48 hour itinerary for Caloundra:
To make the most of your 48 hours in Caloundra arrive the day prior and settle into your comfortable and stylish holiday apartment at Monaco Caloundra. Enjoy dinner out or take-aways from one of the superb restaurants in Caloundra and then go to bed early as you’ve got a big day planned tomorrow!
Start the day with a refreshing swim at Bulcock Beach located just across the road from Monaco Resort. Either come back to your apartment for your own prepared breakfast or indulge in a healthy breakfast downstairs at Shingle Inn or one of the many other great cafes located nearby.
Now that you’ve “carbed up” for the day, put on your walking shoes and take a stroll along the Caloundra Coastal Pathway. Head for Kings Beach then track around the Caloundra headland. Pass by Shelly Beach and enjoy the views north before heading down to Moffat Beach and over Tooway Creek before arriving at the aquatic playground of Dicky Beach. Along the way absorb the majestic views from several vantage points. Take your time and stop for coffee at one of the trendy cafes at Moffat Beach.
This afternoon take a relaxing Caloundra cruise exploring the waterways of the Pumicestone Passage, viewing the marine and birdlife. The Saturday Quarterdeck Lunchtime Cruise is aboard a classic 1930’s double deck riverboat for a cruise from Bulcock Beach to Bells Creek and the Maloney Islands mangrove area.
Or if this is a little slow for you why not jump on a Jet Ski adventure and explore the scenic waterways of Caloundra with a local guide. Select from a range of Caloundra Jet Ski tours from a 50 minute spin to a 3 hour self-drive jet ski hire.
Take a rest before you head for dinner at one of Caloundra’s top restaurants and afterwards one of the great shows at The Events Centre Caloundra. Otherwise check out one of the latest movies at Big Screen Cinemas in Caloundra.
Arise at your leisure. You deserve a sleep in! Breakfast in your apartment or at one of Caloundra’s great selection of cafes. Maybe stroll down to Kings Beach and swim a few laps in the ocean pool and try one of the beachside cafes here.
Afterwards enjoy one of the big three tourist attractions on the Sunshine Coast. Select from either the famous Australia Zoo, Aussie World or SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast at Mooloolaba. Get your tickets online with us HERE
If tourist parks aren’t your thing then why not enjoy a road trip out to the Sunshine Hinterland taking in the beautiful scenery of this area, the quirky villages and the mouth-watering array of local produce available.
Tonight why not cook in utilising Monaco’s fantastic Alfresco BBQ facilities located near the swimming pools. Too tired to cook? Then grab some take-away fish and chips from along Bulcock Beach Esplanade and eat them in the parklands fringing the beach.
Based right in the heart of Caloundra on Bulcock Beach you will find a luxurious accommodation apartment complex offering magical water views and a holiday experience like no other at Monaco Resort.
