Queensland Winter School Holidays: 29 June to 14 July, 2019
The Winter School Holidays are fast approaching and this year occur from 29 June to 14 July for Queensland Schools. There’s still plenty to do and see during our warm winters here on the Sunshine Coast with average temperatures between 7 to 22 degrees and sea water temperatures a pleasant 19 degrees.
Here’s what we suggest you do these winter school holidays on the Sunshine Coast:
Get Sporty
29 Jun: Giddy up to the Caloundra Cup at Sunshine Coast Turf Club in Caloundra.
29 June & 14 Jul: Get behind the local rugby league team, Sunshine Coast Falcons for rounds 15 & 19 at University of Sunshine Coast Stadium.
29 Jun – 14 Jul: Check out the great school holiday activity program for kids at Sunshine Coast Recreation Centre in Currumundi. There’s Casual Climbing at the Rock Face, a 10 metre high indoor rock wall as well as lots of fun school holiday activities at their Coast Club program. They also have sporting equipment available if you want to shoot hoops or have a hit on the tennis courts.

6 & 7 Jul: Knitfest 2019 is an exciting weekend Yarn & Fibre Arts Festival in Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The main street of Maleny transforms into a centre of art, creativity, yarnbombing, workshops, guest speakers, music, trade stalls and craft markets. See Knitfest for more information.
6 to 14 Jul: Share the delights of making art for 9 days. Join in at the Buderim Craft Cottage Winter School of Arts and Artisan Crafts. “Hands-on” Master classes and Beginners classes in seven art and artisan craft fields.
12 to 14 Jul: For the green thumbs and gardening enthusiasts the Queensland Garden Expo is taking place over 3 days at the Nambour Showgrounds. See plants, plants and more plants with over 55 nurseries represented and over 360 exhibitors, workshops and demonstrations.
